The Horse & Groom Bittaford is a Free-House Traditional Village Pub on Dartmoor National Park Surrounded by Beautiful views.

The Horse & Groom has been proudly owned & run by the same family since 2002. Who have been in the pub trade since 1995.

The Horse and Groom was originally situated in the building directly opposite us. It was not  just a pub it was also a shop, butchers and fuel station .  This site was semi demolished back in 1933 for widening of the road. The new Horse and Groom was then built.

The pub has always been the center of the village community from day one, it was even

 a popular safe place for patients of Moorhaven asylum hospital to visit  back in 1891 -1992 when it closed.  

 

We are a small village pub who also serves grub. We have  recently been recognised of having one of the smallest pub kitchens in England with only really room for one yet we still pride ourselves in offering good selection of freshly  Home cooked Traditional pub food . We also pride ourselves by using locally sourced food. and are well known for our Gribbles steaks and also for our 2020 -2021 prize winning Burgers.

We have a special love for pouring local real Ales & Cider's .

We even have our own Horse & Groom real ale brewed for us by Hunters Brewery in Ipplepen
